Individual
When was the last time you stood out in front of someone? You were open to the objective opinions of others about your work by your own choice, not by persuasion i.e. your job? You stood “in the middle of the crowd with a ocean of space” separating you from your peers? This is how making a decision feels to me, that I may be at the mercy of the mob and their hurling stones or Jarring cheers of triumph. This very situation scares multitudes of people throughout their life and they never overcome it.
Some have called it sitting on the fence, you can see the other side, but are worried what the others might do, say, or if you can come back on the other side. Imagine the Portugese when they set out down the west coast of the African Continent not knowing what was there, they could have died, they could have become filthy rich with rare wares. What really irritates me in life is when people are just that, people; people are not individuals. Individuals stand in front of a wave when everyone is on the edge of the beach, individuals press the buttons on a widget to see what they do with the notion that you may or may not break something.
Integrity is being an individual, standing up for what you believe, doing it, and answering for it, good or bad. I have integrity and so does my company. People do not have integrity.
